MORE PHOTOGRAPHS FROM BAMBOO RAFT FESTIVAL AT MAHANDOI ON 25 SEPT 2016 PART 2

Hello everyone, another round of congratulations to Lady District Officer who made our Tourism Minister smiled from ear to ear all day last Sunday 25th Sept and won another RM200 K allocations to continue to provide the basic infrastructures so that the PESTA RAKIT can continue annually and be included in Sabah Tourism Calendar. The site can be turn into a weekly Tamu, starting by a trial monthly Tamu first.

Congratulation to CLEAR led by Sis Winnie who also got a grant of RM10 K for her dedications for giving education and awareness to the community on Environmental issues of our Rivers.
The minister said and I tried to translate in English, " She does not become rich doing this work, but her rewards shall be lots of Pahala (blessings from the Lord above)"  Yeah,  I love this one.

Finally the Resident Crocodile that was caught with camera by the Lady DO herself while she was inspecting and supervising the river cleanup from a boat.  She said this young grandpa may be a tourist attraction himself if he does not end up in the pot as Pusas by the villagers.
I was told that the guy can fetch a handsome price if caught, however the Bomba officer had urge the villager to catch him and send him to Lokawi Zoo, but then don't forget the word Pusas.

Meanwhile no one should go swimming in the river yet for two reasons
1.  Presence of Grandpa Crocodile
2. The water is dirty and can be toxic

PENAMPANG DISTRICT BAMBOO RAFT FESTIVAL 2016 AT MAHANDOI PART 1

Hi to everyone, these are some photos I managed to take on 25th September between Kg Kuai and Kg Mahandoi.  I will have to break my blogs into two parts because it is difficult to upload all the pics at once.

Before that let me quote the most important advice from our Tourism Minister in his opening speech for this First District Level Decorated Bamboo Raft Festival, which was started by CLEAR 5 years ago.

Masidi said,  "We should not be ashamed of being poor, but we should be ashamed if we do nothing to get out of poverty"

Classic !
