KAAMATAN KDCA PENAMPANG OPEN HOUSE AT CULTURAL VILLAGE ON 28 JUN 2014

Why so late?
Datuk Sri Panglima Dr Clarence Bongkos Malakun explained that there are only 4 saturdays in May and all of them were occupied with events on which most of the members were busy. 28 June was the last saturday before the fasting month begins so it was the best date where everyone can attend.

And sure enough all the KDM leaders from all political parties including UMNO, PBS, UPKO, PKR, STAR and NGO such as KDCA itself and KSS and former SUHAKAM commissioner TS Simon Sipaun were all present.

The Kaamatan Party is non - political so even Christina Liew was invited.
Deputy Speaker of the state Assymbly Johnny Mositun represented Huguan Siou Datuk Sri Panglima Pairin Kitingan.

So when Malakun was asked about the President of the Native Affairs Department or MHEAIN who said community leaders who invites opposition leaders would be sacked,  he replied with a one-liner, "We will do what the Sarawak CM said" which does not seem to require any further clarification. Just go to the news and find out what Adenan Satem of Sarawak said ok?  Well I myself have not found out the full statement of Sarawak CM yet.

The organising committee of this party is the KDCA Penampang Coordinating Committee or in Kadazan, "Tinan Popisamo KDCA Uvang Penampang"

Ha,  the word "Popisamo" has other meaning besides coordinating. It can also mean "mediating" or "peace making".  Isnt that apt enough??

To continue this story,  best to just show photos,  he he he

Souvenir or "buah tangan" for YB Johnny Mositun was literally fruits from Sabah.  Malakun on left, Jeoffrey Ekol on the right - all smiles

Earlier, Malakun and Sipaun with the senior citizens

The Songkotoun Band from Mook ?

Deniss Primus and Martha Ginun were the chief entertaining artists and both were previous Sugandoi Winners

And this man is the top Joget dancer, he can dance anywhere !!

And so were these guys, dancing joget at any location

Christina Liew with the most charming smile next to Simon Sipaun

And finally the host himself, Patron of the KDCA Penampang, Dr Malakun with a new Datuk Michael S Malanjun and two other VIPs

RAINING AT DONGGONGON TOWN - SHAMEFUL IF SEEN BY TOURIST

Where would you go for shelter if you are caught in the rain at this town?

The answer:  nowhere

Even the largest roof for event area or the Buhavan (golden) square is the BIGGEST FAILURE of all.  Leaking and perhaps dangerous, the tiles on the floor are breaking up because the contractor who installed the tile definitely are the low class type.
The roof is leaking heavily during the rain apart from being so ugly as if it is full of holes.
Definitely it was built by crony contractors who got direct award as there is no open tender in the state of Sabah.

And if you are eating at this golden square during the rain, you need to eat and drink under your own umbrella.

Just what would tourist say if they see such a sight?

Will the PDC ever wake up and  take note of this public feedback ??

CHILDREN OF FOREIGN WORKERS DOING EXERCISES WHILE THE LOCALS PLAY COMPUTER GAMES INDOORS?

This is not quite an event but I cannot help noticing these foreign kids, all girls the leader being around 7 years old, doing their exercise below the sumazau stature at Donggongon, Penampang on 22nd June 2014.

What is the significance?  Well in case you don't know, these kids are doing their physical exercises unsupervised by any adults and their exercise is quite discipline, they even count up to 10 for their stretching exercises and they said they learnt it from some special school for foreign kids.

And by doing these exercises, they are building up their muscles and stamina which will help them perform later in universities.  Also these kids have a high chance of becoming citizens of Sabah and I can foresee that one of them could well be the next Mayor of Donggongon City.

Now where are all the local kids especially the Kadazan children?  All spoilt indoors playing computer games and getting fatter and lazier?

Think about this you KDM parents.

PDC GOES AFTER ILLEGAL BILLBOARDS ON 29 MAY 2014

After the awnings at Donggongon, the council went after the illegal billboards.

Ha, no objection from me since some of these illegal billboards are flimsy as can be seen from this photos and if blown by the wind, can kill some of us motorist and pedestrians.

Funny though, one of the first small billboard chopped down seems to be erected by a state department..  check out the first photo though the billboard seems to be faded and abandoned.

This small billboard seems to belong to a state department,  chop chop chop
 down down down

Note the design of this flimsy illegal billboard

DOWN...  at the back, the approved billboards are designed lattices certified by professional engineers.

PLENTY of metal for the scrapyards... hmmmmmm

DONGGONGON AWNINGS GET CHOP CHOP FROM THE PENAMPANG DISTRICT COUNCIL FROM 12 MAY 2014

Hi readers, sorry for not updating this blog for quite a while.
Chasing news and the Kaamatan really took their toll.

On 12 May this year, the PDC came down hard on all awnings at Donggongon which were deemed not approved or not in accordance with their 8 foot guideline.. ha still using old British when Malaysia was metricated more than 30 years ago ??

The first to get the chop was Rahmath restaurant whom the council regarded as uncoorporative.  Well the full story was in Daily Express,  I only want to upload a few photos here.

The large awning as on 12 May just before the chop
